Organizational Developmental Level One - Foundatiion Formally Established

The first developmental stage of Soldiers to Statesmen centers on getting the nonprofit formally established. Gratefully we are already well along in this process. That said we have some final steps to complete for the foundation to meet this developmental milestone. Because transparency is highly valued in Soldiers to Statesmen and we want others to accompany us along on this journey; below you will find the goals we have already accomplished as well as what remains to be done. As always if you have any ideas that you think hold utility in helping the Soldiers to Statesmen Foundation realizing its mission of helping United States veterans, please do not hesitate to contact us. In keeping with the foundation's founding principles, core values and operational guidelines we will be sure to afford full credit and recognition to individuals for their intellectual contribution.

Goals That Have Been Accomplished

9. Develop bylaws for application of a 1023 federal nonprofit status

10. Develop personal plan for application of a 1023 federal nonprofit status

11. Develop a dissolution clause for application of a 1023 federal nonprofit status

12. Apply for E.I.N. number (obtained)

13. Apply for federal nonprofit status (1023) (application currently being processed)

14. Set up email account for Soldiers to Statesmen Soldiers_To_Statesmen@yahoo.com

15. Ensure that all by laws, personal plan and dissolution clause coincide with current New York State nonprofit regulations (http://old.usitt.org/documents/362.pdf )

16. Apply for New York State Nonprofit status at the New York State Attorney General’s Office Charity Registration
