Vetting Process of Applicants

 

Given the general sense of urgency surrounding United States public policy challenges as well as to ensure a maximal productive environment it is necessary that the selection process for potential scholarship awardees has to be highly competitive.  The criteria upon which a potential scholarship awardee is selected are a direct resultant of the core values and operational guidelines within the Solders to Statesmen Foundation operates.  The specifics that define the selection criteria that a potential scholarship awardee qualification is weighed are elaborated below.

 

  1. All applicants must have served in the United States military

  2. All applicants must have received an honorable discharge

  3. All applicants must provide letters of recommendation from previous commanding officers

  4. All applicants must provide 3 letters of recommendation from fellow soldiers

  5. All applicants must never have worked for an organization that is contradictory / openly hostile to United States or United States national interests.

  6. All applicants must have never worked for an organization that is connected to entities that are contradictory / openly hostile to United States or United States national interests

  7. All applicants must have never engaged in personal activities that are openly contradictory to United States or to United States national interests. 

  8. All applicants must have never made official statements that are openly hostile to the United States or United States national interests.

  9. All applicants must have not committed a federal crime – verified by a federal law enforcement background check

  10. All applicants must not have committed a misdemeanor – verified by a local police background check for all previous residences. 

  11. All applicants must have never been convicted to narcotic use. 

  12. All applicants will submit to regular drug screening

  13. All applicants must illustrate a firm commitment to further their academic development in disciplines conducive to preparation for public office as a means to optimally affect public policy that aggressively pursues United States national interests. 

  14. Congruent to applicants illustration of a firm commitment to further their academic development in disciplines conducive to preparation for public office as well as a means to optimally effect public policy that aggressively pursues United States national interests all applicants  must agree to the academic / degree track that is outlined by the Soldiers to Statesmen scholarship program.  Such degree track to conclude with each applicant obtaining multiple degree conferrals, with said graduate degrees defined as a Master’s In Public Administration, Masters in International Relations, Masters in Economics, Master Certification in Advanced National Security Studies, Master Certification in Counter Intelligence, Master Certification Political Warfare. 

  15. All applicants / scholarship awardees must sign a legally binding contract that the information the applicant / scholarship awardee has provided is to the best of their knowledge accurate.  If it is discovered that applicant / scholarship awardee willingly / knowingly provided fraudulent information during their application process said discovery will translate to a violation of the contract between said applicants / awardee and the Soldiers to Statesmen foundation.  The resultant of a scholarship awardee violation of the contract between said scholarship awardee and the Soldiers to Statesmen Foundation will result in the scholarship awardee being expelled from the program as well as be responsible to fully reimburse the monetary / non-monetary endowments said applicant / awardee has received by the Soldiers to Statesmen Foundation to date.
